Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between your church and Compassion Innovations LLC for the use of Ministry Follow-Up. Text-message notifications are governed additionally by the SMS terms, and information handling by the Privacy Policy.

1. Agreement

By creating an account, signing in, or using Ministry Follow-Up, you agree to these terms on behalf of your church or organization. The person who does so must be authorized to bind it. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Compassion Innovations LLC, and “you” and “your church” mean the organization holding the account.

2. What we provide

Ministry Follow-Up receives care requests, routes each one to a responder, notifies that responder, and records what was done. We provide it as a hosted service, maintain it, and make improvements to it. We do not provide pastoral care, and we are not responsible for whether your church responds to any particular request. The product tells you what is outstanding; acting on it is the work of your church.

3. Accounts

Your church is responsible for who it invites, what role it gives them, and for removing access when somebody leaves. Keep credentials confidential and tell us promptly at info@ministryfollowup.com if you believe an account has been misused. Do not share one login between people: the record of who did what is only worth having if each name is one person.

4. Your church’s information belongs to your church

Everything your church enters or brings into Ministry Follow-Up remains your church’s. We claim no ownership of it and we do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train machine-learning models. We hold it and process it to provide the service, as set out in the Privacy Policy. You can export your records while your account is active, and you can ask us for an export at any time.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Ministry Follow-Up to send advertising, fundraising appeals, or any other unsolicited message to people who have not asked to hear from you; to store information your church has no lawful basis to hold; to attempt to reach another church’s records; to probe, scan, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure; or to break any applicable law. Text-message notifications go only to staff and volunteers who have opted in, as the SMS terms set out.

6. Fees and billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, at the price shown when you subscribe. Payments are taken by Stripe. Unless you cancel, a subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price for your plan. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price change affects your church.

Founding-church pricing, where offered, applies for the first year of a church’s subscription and then renews at the standard price for that plan, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Text-message notifications are included in the plans that offer them, for ordinary care use. If a church’s volume reaches a level where it costs us materially more to deliver, we will talk to you about it before anything changes. We will not add a charge you have not agreed to.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time, with no notice period. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and the subscription does not renew. We do not refund a partly used period. After your account ends, tell us if you want an export of your records; we will provide one and then delete the records as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Suspension and termination by us

We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, that has not paid, or whose use threatens the security or availability of the service for others. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will tell you what is wrong and give you a reasonable opportunity to put it right first. If we end an account without cause, we refund the unused part of what you have paid.

9. Services your church connects

Ministry Follow-Up can connect to services your church already uses, such as Planning Center, your own mailbox, or Square. Those connections are made by you, with your own credentials, and are governed by your agreement with that provider. We are not responsible for their availability, their pricing, or what they do with information you instruct us to send them.

10. Availability and support

We aim to keep Ministry Follow-Up available at all times and to reply to support requests within one business day. Notifications are dispatched as soon as a request is assigned; delivery of email and text messages depends on providers and carriers we do not control. We do not promise a specific uptime figure, and we do not promise that any individual message will arrive.

11. Changes to the service

We improve the product continuously. If we remove a capability your church relies on, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email, and if you do not want to continue without it you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of your period.

12. Warranties

We provide Ministry Follow-Up with reasonable skill and care. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, it is provided as it is, without further warranty of any kind, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees your church paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

Your church will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from its own unlawful use of the service, or from information it put into the service that it had no right to hold.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Pinellas County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms

We will email the administrators of every active church account at least 30 days before a material change takes effect, and change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after that date means the new terms apply. If you would rather not accept them, cancel before they take effect and we will refund the unused part of your period.
